Developer commissions 'Wynwood style' murals at Miami condo

More than twenty artists from around the world are currently painting large contemporary "Wynwood style” murals in the halls of the Canvas condo tower in downtown Miami, developed by NR Investments.  Daniel “Krave” Fila was commissioned by the developer to organize a group of artists and curate the project. Once finished, the project will include about 200 original works of art, with 56 large-scale murals on 27 residential floors, plus original prints, photographs and additional framed paintings throughout the 37 story building.  “I’m having a blast”, said Fila, “All the artists that are involved are very enthusiastic, because the client has given us such freedom and support from the very beginning, to be ourselves,” Fila said. “It’s going to be a very special project by the end, I don’t think there is going to be anything like it, and I couldn’t be prouder of what it’s become." Canvas is at 1630 N.E. 1st Ave. in Miami, situated west of Edgewater and adjacent to the Wynwood Arts District. The 37-story building will include 513 total units. The studios, one- and two-bedroom residences will range in price from $386,200 to $630,000 and in size from 690 square feet to 1205 square feet. The building is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2018.
