El Fresco Art space 535 sw 12th ave Miami, FL 33130What connects Miami to a small country located on the other side of the planet? Not much according to the History of Miami archives department, our library archives. Aside from Thai cuisine, even the Herald has little to nothing attaching Thailand to Miami from its archives up until 1980 aside from a visit from the prince for an agriculture convention in 1978.But a decade ago, on one Miami man’s travels abroad, he began a personal quest and dubbed it, “The Thai Miami Trail (#thaimiamitrail)”. Native Miamian, Artist, Daniel “Krave” Fila, went with his then Thai-American fiancée to her Motherland. While there, and through that tight knit global network of graffiti world connections, where everyone knows someone in an affiliated crew somewhere, he linked up with Alex Face to paint. Alex is now the most successful street artist in Thailand with work in museum collection’s having solo exhibitions internationally, and paving the way for dozens of Thai’s to follow. On Krave’s most recent trip to Bangkok, he partnered with the gallery representing Alex on an exhibit, and painted a Vietnam War era themed mural (on view at the show) with Alex and crew on Sukhumvit (the equivalent of US-1 here). Bangkok is the magic city of Asia! These two subtropical, tourist / trade driven, major destinations treated as low-key brothels have many connections, come discover some of them on The Thai Miami Trail in Little Havana. Featuring Thai Artists:Mue_Bon, an all city graffiti artists from BKK coming down from NY after his first solo exhibition in the USHeadache_Stencil the premiere stencil artist of Thailand.ThaiberPunk modernizing traditional iconography from Thailand through stylized IllustrationMauy_msv street artist and muay thai fighterWaris_msv female street artistNagon street artistJay Sim photographer

Here are a few drawings on wood. Drawing is where I  found my confidence as an Artist. It is a basic medium, and the most direct way to get an image from inside of my head onto paper.  It made for a great outlet as a frustrated teenager, and it always brings me back to center when astray.
The diptych entitled, "Dichotomy" was created while I was represented by Michael Margulies, and it was exhibited it in, "ArteAmericas",  the premier art fair from Latin America and Spain.
